halloween jam jams for the littles

l

If you have been following us for a while, then you know its no secret we are halloween obsessed. Not only do we love halloween but we love any excuse to get festive around here. Jam jam's, like we call them, are a simple and easy way to get yourself and the kiddos into the holiday spirit! Jules already knows that we live in festive jam's come the holidays, so she's always pointing them out when we are out shopping and loves to pick hers out at night. Here are some of o u r  favorites ( yes, Jules helped and she was super excited about those peanuts jams) that are sure to make this month super cute and festive!

pumpkin patch fun

We finally had our main guy home for the whole weekend, for the first time in what seems like months. Jules was so excited to wake up Saturday morning and having daddy home. She planned the weekend, which means we basically lived at the pumpkin patch and had some much needed quality family time.

friday favorites

It's been a hectic week. I randomly decided to clean out my house so I spent three days purging old baby clothes, old toys, rearranged all the cabinets in the kitchen and swept and mopped like I never have before. Don't you always feel so good after doing that? My house, or should I say my floors were in desperate need.

We also had Kourtney's first ballet class. She is in the ballet/tap class for walkers-2yr olds. I was so proud of her. She actually tried her best to do what the teacher was doing. The cutest was when she was tapping her foot, she was trying so hard but kept losing her balance. After sitting outside and watching her sister dance for so long, you could see how excited she was to try it. It's so crazy how each child has their own personality. When Jules started at the same age, she would not leave my side, for months! We ended pulling her out because she just didn't seem happy. Kourtney was the complete opposite. She was timid at first but quickly broke out of her shell the second the toys came out. She was shaking her maracas back and forth across the room all on her own. Cutest thing ever!

After what seems like the longest week, we are so excited to have a fun relaxing family weekend . For the first time in weeks my husband has a Saturday off. Y A Y! We plan on watching the USC game at home with some homemade burgers and fries and heading to some fun pumpkin patches. We went to a local one two weeks ago and Jules cried when we left. She has been begging to go back since. There is a local park that hosts a pretty fun pumpkin patch with face painting, train rides, carnival games, and pony rides. We are so excited to surprise the girls, they are going to love it!I also plan on getting some shopping time squeezed in. Here are some of my friday favorites!I have a pretty full cart online at baby gap! I'm currently obsessing over their whole Pendleton collection, it's so good! I must have this dress for the girls, this denim jacket, and this beanie! Perfect for fall! I've been eyeing this gold side table from target, forever! I keep telling myself I need at least one but haven't taken the plunge. I think it is calling my name because I just checked and its currently on sale! My girls love books, like obsessed! They have me reading all day. The cutest is when Kourt takes the books to Jules and she reads to her. Some of their favorites are If I were a Unicorn, Madeline, and Pinkalicious! What are some of your kids favorite books? We would love to add to our collection. Hope you have a great weekend!

Kourtney's Flamingle

I learned my lesson the first time around with Jules, one year olds aren't too fond of celebrating their birthdays and my girls are so shy they don't do good in big crowds. With Kourtney, I decided to take a whole different approach and my ocd self thought I had it all figured out by planning her party after her big nap to ensure she would be a happy little birthday babe. So I planned her the most perfect little (and when I say little I mean over the top) flamingle brunch with some of our closest family and friends. As every mommy knows, don't count on your plans working out the way you envisioned. In true Kourtney style, she had her own little idea on how she wanted to spend her party, she slept for the most part and was grumpy when she woke up to a house full of people. Lesson learned, but we still had the best time celebrating her and one day she will look back and thank me for throwing her the best first birthday ever and for taking way too many party photos, right?

I decided on this theme early on when she was about 2 months. Her monthly photos (seen here) were done with a flamingo and my favorite heart blanket every month, it just made sense to continue the theme.

I set up the cutest little drink station with every single thing needed to make flavored coffee, iced caramel coffees with whipped cream, chocolate milk & of course, mimosas because let's be honest, it wouldn't be a true brunch without mimosas.

One of my favorite DIY's from the party was the hula hoop I decked out with all of her monthly photos and of course, included her little flamingo doll that she took her monthly photos with.

For food I tried to keep it as simple and easy for us as possible since it was a morning party. I did a waffle bar complete with all the fun toppings. Ordered eggs, bacon, and sausage from our favorite local breakfast spot. We also had a yogurt parfait station, some bowls of cereal and muffins. Super easy and something for everyone.

One of my favorite DIY's, I'll probably say this about every single one of them, was the balloon backdrop I made for her cake smash. I mean, just look at it! I had pinned something similar on Pinterest and was dead set on having it. Mine was a way smaller tropical version but I love the way it turned out. I also loved the bar cart, it's from Ikea and I spray painted gold, of course.

I also DIY'd all three of her birthday cakes, which looked cute until they started melting in the heat.

For favors I did the mini floaty flamingos and added a mini mason jar filled with donuts and topped with a gold straw. Easy snack the kids could take home, fill their cup with milk and enjoy their donuts.

I take the girls way too often on day dates to Pinkberry, it's Kourtney's favorite. So we had to have it at her party & it was a hit in the almost 100 degree heat.

The party wouldn't be complete without a fun photo backdrop. I DIY'd this last minute. I couldn't decide on what I really wanted until I was putting her monthly photos together. I recreated the heart blanket she laid on each month and included her gold name banner we used for the past 12 months.

Once the party was over and everyone was gone, Kourtney was back to her happy self and had the best mini flamingle with just us and her furry friends.
