Backpack flair

It's no secret my girls and I are a little extra. We love all the girly, sparkly things and knew we had to bedazzle their backpacks. I never shared Jules' kindergarten backpack deets, worst wanna be blogger ever ha. I'll be sharing it below along with this years flair and a few things we love.

We loved this fjallraven kanken backpack. I know it's a splurge item but the quality is amazing and I honestly loved the size of it. Jules used this in the mini for TK and the regular size for kindergarten and it fit her little body so perfectly, it didn't look so huge like the other regular sized bags did. It held up so well and cleaned up great at the end of the year. We plan on saving it and using it again another school year. I think the thing we loved about it the most was how we were able to customize it with all the fun things. The patches held up great except for a few in the pocket area but I also had a hard time ironing them on that section. The letter pins are from Hobby Lobby. They were so cute but she lost them throughout the year because of where we placed them. She was constantly hitting and pulling them when she put things into and out of her backpack. I'm thinking that placing them in the pocket area that never got used would have saved them, that's what we ended up doing for this years backpack. Most of the patches were from amazon and a few from Hobby lobby.

This years backpack is so fun and screams Jules. Not sure where she saw a clear backpack but that is what she requested, clear and glittery, no sequins. We ended up stumbling across this one right after her summer vacation started and she had to have it. Another splurge item but so worth it! When it showed up I was so impressed and didn't expect it to be as sturdy and even cuter in person. We went with the Hobby Lobby pins again. After they fell off last years backpack I figured we would do iron on letter patches instead but when we went this clear route, that was out of the picture. Hoping that placing these on the pocket area helps. her initial hand sanitizer is from Justice and the iridescent pom pom is from target.

Kourt is princess obsessed so it's no surprise she picked this backpack. She will be in a preschool program where they don't really need a backpack, most kids take one and put their water bottles and sweaters in there, so we went with the mini and I love it! Let me just say that it is small so if you're looking for something to pack lots of things in this size is not for you. I love that it's small because she can use it daily. She likes purses and bags and tends to take one filled with toys to restaurants so this is perfect! We can even use it on Disney days. Speaking of Disney, on our last trip she picked out the cutest little Mickey hat hand sanitizer. The ice cream pom pom is from Target and we ended up doing the same pin letter for her too.

How cute are those personalized keychains. My friend, Stephanie, from Sparrow and Bean made Jackson a pacifier clip when he was a baby. I loved it so much that when  Jules started school last year and knew she needed one too. Stephanie is the sweetest and made my little keychain dreams come true.  She is literally the sweetest small shop owner ever and has offered you 20% with code, "ALITTLEJANDK20". Back to school teacher gift

Not sure if this is a "thing" but we did this last year with Julianne's kindergarten teachers and they were so appreciative. We love our school and our super loving teachers, so we figured we'd do it again this year. I didn't have an idea what we were going to do until Jules grabbed this gold apple paper weight at Target and said she wanted to get it for her teacher, it all sorta just clicked from there. We walked around target searching for letter stickers and found these gold ones, also loved the rainbow stickers so we grabbed those too. I had ordered my girls some personalized pencils (here) and remembered they also had teacher pencils so I ordered a pack of those.

This diy was super easy and can be customized in so many ways. Target didn't have many letter options but I know Hobby Lobby has a ton with different fonts and colors, you can even order personalized vinyl ones off Etsy! Or if you have a circuit you can make your own. I also found a few different apples off amazon. For the tag, I just hole punched white card stock, added the sticker and tied it to the apple.

My favorite part about any gift is the wrapping! My go to for topping any gift lately is this cute chunky yarn, another Hobby Lobby find and look at that personalized pencil, it worked out perfectly!

Sea world / Sesame Street parade

It feels like summer is quickly coming to an end for us and we are scrambling to get in as much family time in as possible. When our summer break first started Julianne and I sat down and made a bucket list of things that we would love to do. At the top of her list was to take her baby brother Jacks somewhere he will love. We got to thinking and came up with Sea World

We hadn't been in a few years and knew he would absolutely love it. Sea World brings back so many childhood memories for me. We used to go there every summer when I was younger so it's always fun to take my kiddos to a place I once loved. My kids love the shows and sit in awe watching, or sit laughing hysterically, especially at the Sea Lions Live show! It's so funny! It was my favorite growing up; love that it is still there and funnier than ever. They also love the Sesame Street rides and splash pad but the thing that they loved the most this summer was the parade and of course the bubble wands!

The Sesame Street Parade was adorable. It was full of color, music and got the kids up jumping trying to get the attention of their favorite characters. We all loved it! It marches throughout Sea World with all the fun Sesame Street characters like Elmo, Count, and the girls favorite, Abby Cadabby! The funniest was hands down Cookie Monster. The Parade stops a few times and we got him dancing up a storm right in front of us. He had all the kids and some adults dancing around us too.

The parade will be running every Saturday and Sunday from May 25th through September 1st. Sea World San Diego is the first and only place to see this parade in California.

We had a full fun day packed with all the fun. We spent most of our time doing what the kiddos wanted - face painting, eating all the fun food and playing in the Sesame Street section. They got on those rides over and over and over again. Aside from that we did a few shows and the penguin exhibit a few times because they're Julianne’s favorite animals. It was the perfect family day!

We were lucky enough to partner with Sea World San Diego on this post, all opinions expressed are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make out blog possible.
