Julianneisms // first edition

Here's the first of many "Julianneism" posts. I think I decided that this age is my favorite (ha I've been saying that every year since Jules was born)! Three year olds are the best, they are just learning how to make full sentences, they're like, real people now! They are the most honest little beings and say whatever comes to their minds, with no filter, they really do say the darnest things. I finally decided to document all the crazy things that come out of my little babes mouth so I can look back one day and remember her carefree, silly self and the way she views the world through her little eyes.

Daddy: Jules do you know where hamburgers come from?
Jules: yeah, McDonalds!

Jules: Daddy, you're a bad girl.
Daddy: I'm a man.
Jules: No daddy, you not a man, you a boy.

Me: Jules, Kourtney is not feeling good.
Jules: awww Tortey, you need to go to Target. Popcorn makes everything better.

Jules: Mommy I want all the sisters. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 sisters. No boys! ha ha boys are stinky!

Daddy: You can't have anymore candy.
Jules: This isn't candy daddy, it's chocolate.

Me: Jules, why are you so cute?
Jules: Because I, I, yuv you!

Me: Jules, who is in charge?
Jules: Mommy! But I'm pretending to be the mommy so I'm in charge.

Jules: I want you to have another baby in your belly!
Me: Do you want a boy or a girl?
Jules: I want a girl and I will help pick a name!
Me: What names do you like?
Jules: Hmmm, I like Elmo, because he is red like my hair!

summer bucket list

little miss tee's c/o Paper Doll Clothing Company

This summer is going to be so good. Julianne is at the age where she is always asking to do something fun and is finally starting to enjoy interacting with other kiddos, plus we have a new baby to show the summer ropes to. Jules helped me get this list together, she had me laughing the whole time, lets just say some of her suggestions didn't make the list. ha

1. Her first request was to make fun fruit foods! I have a watermelon pizza pinned that we definitely will be trying.

2. Splash pads. We have never been, but apparently they are the thing to be doing these days so I've gotta show my girls what the fuss is all about.

3. Enjoy more dinners in our backyard.

4. Ice cream, ice cream, ice cream. We are determined to try the ice cream doughnut.

5. Beach days. This is so embarrassing, we are from So Cal and live about 30 minutes from the beach but we've never taken Jules. Her first and only beach experience was in Hawaii two years ago.

6. Flower picking.

7. Bowling.

8. Make unicorn bark. This is a fun one, will be sure to post a DIY on the blog.

9. Strawberry picking.

10. Our annual Palm Springs trip. We have been doing this since Jules was born, that was her first family vacation and we can't wait to take Kourtney.

Do you have any fun summer plans or any suggestions we can try? We would love to hear them.

fathers day

With Father's Day right around the corner we have decided to start on some of our DIY gifts. It's mine and Julianne's tradition to hand make something special for her daddy every Father's Day & we are so excited to include Kourtney this year. Julianne has finally started talking up a storm and the things she says sometimes are hilarious. She always has me and her daddy laughing. Thanks to my cousin and some Pinterest research I decided to ask Jules some fun questions about her daddy. It was so nice to hear what she thinks of her daddy and how much of an impact he has in her life. Enjoy and have yourself a good little laugh...

We will be putting this print in a frame and will include these cute photos so daddy can put it on his desk at work. He is the biggest sports fan so I stuck the girls in his favorite USC and LA Kings shirts and hats. We also got him some special daddy gear to rock the day of because every daddy needs to be extra festive when they're being celebrated! We can't wait to surprise him with these (hopefully he isn't reading this)! LOL.

If you'd like to do the same with your kiddos, here is my DIY version of this super fun idea. Just click and print it out. What are your kiddos giving their daddy for Father's Day? We'd love to hear and save some ideas for next year!

Weekend fun // boon review

One of our favorite things to do as a family is hang out and explore in Downtown Los Angeles. There are so many fun things to see, from the flower mart to the fabric district. But my favorite thing has got to be all the unique art. This past weekend we decided to have brunch at our favorite spot, Bottega Louie. I always recommend this place to everyone heading down here. The food is delicious and the desserts are even better! We walked in and Jules said, "ooohhhh my favorite place!" We've been coming here since before she was born, so she knows all the good stuff to pick, like her favorite raspberry macaroon.

Bottega Louie is always pretty packed, especially on weekends. It's a gorgeous venue! It's all white and gold, everywhere! It's mainly an adult crowd with a few kids here and there. There aren't any kid menus and definitely no plastic kid cups, all glass only. So I was pretty excited to be able to use our new Boon SNUG cup covers. They are the neatest things I have ever seen! You can literally stretch these out over any cup and turn it into a sippy cup! Bye bye moldy sippy cups! Jules is so dainty and careful that we were able to slide one over her glass cup. She loved being able to drink her water on her own without me or her daddy watching to make sure she wouldn't drop it. Kourtney on the other hand, let's just say we came prepared with one of the plastic cups that came with the SNUG set. These have changed our "dining out with two kids" lives forever.

After some yummy pizza and lots of macaroons we headed on out and explored. We walked a couple of blocks, stopped at all the fun art walls and made our way to a cute little park. These girls had the best time playing and getting a long over due full day with their hard working daddy. It was a perfect Sunday with the best company.

We received samples from boon but all opinions are 100% my own.

sister + sister // twinning

We have a major twinning addiction at our house. I just love seeing my girls dressed alike. I mean, might as well do it while they let me because the reality is one day Jules is going to think it is totally embarrassing. Hopefully that won't happen for a while though. Right now she LOVES it and always asks to match her sister because its not fair if they don't. It's my mommy dream come true.

Although we love to match, I don't always like to have them looking identical. I take similar pieces, prints, patterns and coordinate from there. Don't get me wrong though, a good head to toe moment is amazing. I've put together some of my favorite coordinating sister outfits that are on my "need" list.

Kourtney's Baptism

On May 28th our little angel was baptized at San Gabriel Mission. The mission is so special to our family; her big sister was also baptized there, her daddy and I were married there 6 years ago, and I attended San Gabriel Mission High. After the ceremony, we celebrated at a local banquet facility in a beautiful open room that overlooked a golf course. Not to mention, we had the most delicious waffle station and dessert table! It was a perfect day filled with lots of love for our little Kourtney with all our family and friends.

I am such a sentimental schmuck and love to save, or hoard, whatever you want to call it, everything! Kourtney wore the same, handmade dress that her sister wore on her baptism. I have this vision of every daughter of mine wearing this dress and maybe even seeing my future granddaughters in it as well. It's just such a beautiful dress!

I find any reason to DIY and a special event is always the perfect excuse! Birthdays, holidays and family get togethers are so much more personal when there are handmade details present. For Kourtney's baptism I wanted to go with an angel theme, which may explain why everything is white! I made everything from the invitations to the chocolate drizzled pretzels sticks. The rosette table linen was probably my favorite detail!
